"Don't Wish For It Work For It"
That my friends.... was the mantra that kept me going.
Today marks 1yr that I started my healthy journey.
I am proud to say that with being consistent and perseverant it has lead me to lose 60lbs.
Last year I stood a whopping 225lbs.
Its funny because you don't really realize how big you really where
until you lose the weight and look back at pictures.
So.... why did I decide to start my healthy journey in August?
Well, I really didn't have a time frame in mind. I just got tired of feeling sluggish and unhealthy.
I made up my mind that from that day forward, I was going to do what I needed to do to become healthy.
What did I do? Whats my secret?
My secret is.....determination.
How bad do you really want it?
My friends there is extreme power in a changed mind.
If you really, really desire something you will put in the work needed to achieve it.
It's all in the mindset.
It's all in the mindset.
Of course things will not be easy, but if you persevere you will be amazed at the results.
To achieve my results, I did a series of things.
First, I totally changed my day to day routine. In the mornings, I would meditate.
Meditation clears the mind.
Next I would drink a glass of water. I will then begin my day....doing mostly walking to and from my location. I would try to move around as much as possible.

After work I would hit the gym and do a variety of things.
I actually started off dancing to my Wii U. That lead to me walking around a local track, which then lead to swimming, bike riding, kick boxing and circuit training.
I would also make it a point to be in my bed, and asleep by 11-11:30pm.
As for my diet, I would eat meals that are high in protein, fiber, and low in sugar.
A sample of one of my daily meals would be:
Breakfast- herbal tea, eggs, bacon, and a few slices of avocado.
Lunch- grilled chicken wrap with veggies, a handful of almonds, and a glass of water.
Dinner- Spiralized zucchini with chicken and asparagus.
From my experience the five things that will ensure that you lose weight are:
1. Water
2. Exercise
3. Low sugar
4. Low stress level
5. Sleep
You would be amazed at how many things can affect your stress levels.
What I did through my journey was regular detoxing.
I detoxed from television, social media, radio, people.... and simply just enjoyed nature.
I read many books and journaled a lot.

Just like detoxing from food....detoxing from social triggers is also good for the mind, body, and soul.

I hope my journey inspires you in some kind of way.
If you are on your journey don't give up. Keep on pushing.
Each small step will lead to a big gain. You have to learn yourself and your body.

Once you are in tune with yourself you will know what works for you.
Have patience.....and enjoy the journey.
Remember....what lasts long will not come easy.
Take Care!
